Music is tightly woven into the fabric of our lives, signposting milestones and anniversaries, highs and lows, loves and friendships. Hewn Records are created to be physical embodiments of music; they bring to life the music that resonates most deeply with people and their memories.

Designed & fabricated in the UK, Hewn Records are the first artworks to be released by design and art collective Hewn Works. Inspired by the form and function of vinyl records we have created a way of translating the soundwave of a song – any song – into a physical landscape.

Your song is carved directly into an ultra-high density wood fibre composite. Songs begin at the outer edge and spiral inwards, with mountains representing loud sections of a song and valleys depicting softness.
